The Implementation Regulations of the Drug Administration Law (Revised) have been included in the State Council's 2025 Legislative Work Plan

Recently, the General Office of the State Council issued the "2025 Legislative Work Plan of the State Council" (hereinafter referred to as the "Legislative Plan"), which includes the revised implementation regulations of the Drug Administration Law.

According to the Legislative Plan, there are 16 legal bills to be submitted to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress for deliberation this year, including the draft medical security law and the draft amendment to the food safety law. A total of 30 administrative regulations are proposed to be formulated and revised, including the Measures for the Implementation of the Drug Administration Law of the People's Republic of China by the Chinese People's Liberation Army (revised), the Regulations on the Administration of Clinical Research and Application of New Biomedical Technologies, and the Regulations on the Implementation of the Drug Administration Law (revised). The Legislative Plan also provides a general arrangement for other legislative projects to be completed.

The Legislative Plan also announced the draft laws to be submitted for review by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, as well as the administrative regulations to be formulated and revised, including the preparation of regulations for the protection of traditional Chinese medicine knowledge.

Some of the administrative regulations to be formulated and revised in the Legislative Plan have already been released. For example, the revised "Measures for the Implementation of the Drug Administration Law of the People's Republic of China by the Chinese People's Liberation Army" was released in April this year and will come into effect on June 1, 2025.
