The 2026 Guangzhou Medical and Health Industry Expo (referred to as the Guangzhou Medical Expo) will be held in Hall B of the Canton Fair Complex from August 21 to 23. As one of the core exhibitions of the 34th Guangzhou Fair, the expo is hosted by the People’s Government of Guangzhou, coordinated and advanced by the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission and Guangzhou Municipal Cooperation Office. Centered on the theme “Innovation Drives Health, the Greater Bay Area Connects the Globe”, it covers a total exhibition area of 30,000 square meters with more than 200 participating organizations.

Highlight 1: Full Industrial Chain Assembles, Cutting-edge Achievements Unveiled

Three themed halls and eight functional exhibition zones integrate cutting-edge technologies, industrial cooperation and health consumption. National-level research platforms including Guangzhou Laboratory and Sun Yat-sen University, leading innovative enterprises such as Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings, China Resources, Medtronic, BeiGene, as well as all 50 Grade A tertiary hospitals across Guangzhou will gather here. For the first time, Sun Yat-sen University arranges a joint booth with 3 schools and 7 affiliated hospitals, releasing over 30 industrialized frontier achievements covering strategic sectors including cell and gene therapy, radiopharmaceutical R&D, and brain-computer interfaces. Leveraging the Guangzhou-Chengdu Mutual Recognition Mechanism for Innovative Drugs and Devices, Chengdu City organizes a delegation of tertiary hospitals and biotech innovative enterprises to exhibit for the first time.

Highlight 2: 25 Parallel Conferences with Experts at Home and Abroad in Attendance

Twenty-five open exchange sessions will be held concurrently with the expo. The opening ceremony takes “international medical services” as its core theme for the first time, inviting representatives from national, provincial, municipal, Hong Kong and Macao authorities to discuss the future development of Guangzhou’s international medical industry. Parallel conferences cover innovative pharmaceuticals & medical devices, AI-enabled healthcare, inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine and other fields. Experts from the National Health Commission, Guangdong Provincial Health Commission, Hong Kong Department of Health, Macao Health Bureau, as well as Beijing, Shanghai, Australia, Singapore and other regions will share insights on industry frontiers.

Highlight 3: Precise Hospital-Enterprise Matching & Public Welfare Experience Activities Open Simultaneously

All 50 municipal tertiary hospitals participate as demand-side entities, submitting more than 300 clinical cooperation demands covering 12 core sectors such as intelligent imaging diagnosis, rehabilitation robots and in-hospital TCM preparations. A pioneering full-cycle closed-loop service mechanism is adopted: one-on-one negotiation booths for hospitals and enterprises are fully equipped, with dedicated staff conducting follow-up visits after the exhibition. The three-day expo serves as a matchmaking platform to sustain year-round cooperation. Free public experience programs including intelligent TCM diagnosis and dermatology & aesthetic medicine free clinics are open to citizens, bringing cutting-edge technologies to ordinary people.
