From August 21 to 23, 2026, the 2026 Guangzhou Medical and Health Industry Expo (Guangzhou Medical Expo for short), hosted by the People’s Government of Guangzhou Municipality and co-organized by the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission and Guangzhou Municipal Cooperation Office, was held in Area B of the Canton Fair Complex. Guangzhou Dermatology Hospital (hereinafter referred to as the Hospital) participated in the expo upon invitation, marking its third appearance at the Guangzhou Medical Expo.

Building on its previous two participations, the Hospital retained five featured exhibition zones: Specialized Dermatology Zone, Scientific Research Achievements Zone, Clinical Research Zone, In-house Preparations Zone, and Skin Diagnosis & Treatment Experience Zone, with major expansion and upgrading of the specialized dermatology section.

The Specialized Dermatology Zone presented profiles of 19 specialist outpatient teams, with on-site staff offering guidance to help visitors find the most suitable professional treatment teams according to their skin conditions. The In-house Preparations Zone displayed a range of hospital-developed proprietary preparations with proven curative effects widely praised by patients, where pharmaceutical professionals provided medication science popularization and consultation services. In the Skin Diagnosis & Treatment Experience Zone, seasoned medical and nursing teams delivered free skin analysis, glycolic acid peeling, red and blue light therapy and other hands-on experiences, allowing the public to experience standardized dermatological treatment technologies first-hand. The Scientific Research Achievements Zone highlighted the Hospital’s innovative research outputs to demonstrate its robust disciplinary research capacity. The Clinical Research Zone systematically introduced the development and operation of its clinical trial institution, principal investigator (PI) teams, and multiple ongoing drug clinical trial projects.

A highlight of this year’s booth was a dedicated science popularization roadshow area. Multiple hospital specialists delivered live public lectures addressing common skin troubles in daily life, covering hot topics closely concerned by residents: prevention and treatment of facial dermatitis, acne control and management, hair loss prevention and care in summer and autumn, chloasma pigment regulation, and safety guidelines for facial injectable aesthetics. Meanwhile, several interested enterprises attended briefings on the Hospital’s patented research achievements and held matchmaking talks, reaching preliminary cooperation intentions with some firms. The roadshows broke the spatial limits of hospital consultation rooms, brought skin health science to the general public, effectively improved residents’ skin health literacy, and offered intuitive insight into the Hospital’s professional technical strengths.

Conference on Medical Aesthetics Innovation and Quality Control Development

While delivering public welfare science services, the Hospital also built a high-level academic exchange platform for the industry. On August 23, the Hospital hosted the Conference on Medical Aesthetics Innovation and Quality Control Development in Meeting Room 3, Area B of the Canton Fair Complex, attracting representatives from major medical aesthetic institutions and cosmetic enterprises. The launching ceremony of the Guangzhou Industry-University-Research Innovation Center for Medical Aesthetics was held at the conference. Industry experts from the Republic of Korea and authoritative provincial scholars in dermatology and medical aesthetics held in-depth discussions on the current landscape of the medical aesthetics sector, quality evaluation systems and quality management system construction. A roundtable dialogue session was also arranged, gathering industry specialists, representatives of private aesthetic clinics and medical aesthetic enterprises to explore collaborative pathways for high-quality development of the medical aesthetics industry. This conference further consolidated the Hospital’s role as a professional leader in the regional medical aesthetics sector, supporting the steady, sound development of Guangzhou’s medical aesthetics industry toward greater safety, standardization and high quality.
